New Week, New Challenges

Happy Sunday, friends!  I am back today with a couple cards I created for a few different challenges.  One of the challenges has already expired, but I am posting the card anyways because I love how it turned out.

My first card is for this week's Color Throwdown and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is Get in Shape.  Here is the color pallete I used:

And here is my card:

The photo doesn't do this card any justice, thanks to the overcast weather we are having.  This week's Wednesday Challenge was to make a shaped card.  I don't have any fun large dies, so I decided to go simple and just create a banner-shaped card.  I started by masking off the center part of the card, then I used some distress inks to color it in.  It is much more vibrant in person.  I die cut the sentiment used my Silhouette to cut out the butterfly.  Once it was all assembled, I cut the notch out at the bottom of the card and that is it!  Super quick and easy.  My favorite.  :)

For my second card, I used this week's Runway Inspired Challenge photo prompt.  (This is the challenge that is already closed, but I still wanted to share what I created.)  I am entering this card in this month's AEIHeartU Challenge, where the them is Sparkle.  Here is the photo:

And here is my card:

I started by stamping the background image with Versamark ink and heat embossed it using clear, pearl embossing powder.  Then I die cut the diagonal panel and stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and yummy silver embossing powder.  I finished it off using some sparkly sequins.

That is all I have for today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Runway Inspired Challenge #75

Happy Monday, everyone!  I've got a sickie home from school today so I thought I'd take some time to play with a challenge.  Today I am playing along with Runway Inspired Challenge #75.  Here is the inspiration photo:

And here is the card I made:

I was inspired by the bright pink fabric and the silver detail at the top of the dress.  First, I embossed this beautiful pattern using Versamark and my favorite silver embossing powder.  Then I stamped the sentiment onto the small strip of paper and then backed it with grey cardstock.  Next, I took a scrap piece of super thick cardstock and stamped it directly with Versamark and then covered it with the same embossing powder.  Then I die cut the "sparkle" sentiment and adhered it to the strip using Glossy Accents.

I am not one to be super flashy, so this card is very different for me, but I just love how this turned out.

That is all for today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Runway Inspired Challenge #66

Good morning, everyone!  Today I am participating in this week's Runway Inspired Challenge.  Here is the inspiration photo:

And here is the card I made:

I was inspired by the bursts of color and the white (or blue) space.  I stamped this flower in the red and pink distress inks and then used my water brush to color them in with the same colors.  I stamped the sentiment and some little flowers in navy blue, then added some dark, glittery enamel dots to finish it off.  I am happy with the way it turned out.

I am also submitting this for this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  The theme is Anything Goes!

That is all I have for today, folks!  I'll probably be playing along with more soon, so stay tuned!

Until next time...

Runway Inspired Challenge #62

Turns out I had a bit of creativity left in me tonight before I get to bed early, so I am playing along with Runway Inspired Challenge #62.  Here is the inspiration picture:

I was inspired by the dark blue and white space in this dress, plus the fluidity of the skirt.  I made a stencil using my Cameo that looks like falling confetti.  I used my Faded Jeans Distress Inks to color in the spots, then I went simple by putting the sentiment on a plain banner.  I added the little birdie just because.  :)

I am happy with how it turned out, yet I realize it probably should be a bit darker.  But I digress.  :)  I am also entering this card into this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is anything goes!

Anyway, now that is it for today!  Hopefully I will survive girl scout camp tomorrow and will be back soon with more!

Until then...

CAS(E) this Sketch #73

Happy Sunday my crafty friends!  It's been a while since I've played along with any challenges so I took some time for myself yesterday and created a card that I want to share with you all.  With this card, I am playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch #73, which just so happens to go hand-in-hand with Runway Inspired Challenge #58

Here is the sketch:

And here is the card I made:

I thought I would put a twist on this sketch and use it to create a baby bump profile.  Isn't it fun?  For the RIC side of the challenge, I used a fun floral pattern from Maggie Holmes.  I just happened to have some coordinating seam binding that I had already stained using my Iced Spruce distress ink reinker to finish it all off.  I love how easily this came together!

That's all for today!  Until next time...
