Today I played along with this week's AEIheartU Challenge. Here is the card I created:
I decided to just watercolor a random background onto watercolor paper using one color. Next, I stamped the image and sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Go figure that heat embossing over watercolor never seems to work out for me (hence the wonky "you" in the sentiment). But I love everything else about the card, so I am willing to live with it. :)
I embellished the corners with watercolor splashes and various colors of pink sequins that I got from Avery Elle. I think it pulled everything together nicely.
I am also created this card for this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme is Happy Birthday!
Thanks for stopping by! Until next time...
Love the happy pinks in this card, Cristine! Thanks for sharing it with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. Have you tried embossing the images on your cardstock BEFORE adding the watercolor?
ReplyDeleteI normally would have, but when I started this card, I had planned on putting the sentiment on a banner. It kind of took on a life of it's own! lol
DeleteI love how this turned out, no matter when you did the embossing!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the brush strokes and splatters. Thanks for linking this up to the AE Watercolor Challenge!
Great card! I'm thinking of signing up for online card classes 'Watercolor for card makers' class coming up, I'm also quite fascinated with water colors these days :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the pink background with the white! Great card! Thanks for playing along with Avery Elle!
